Bahrain’s mall launches indoor walking drive

Manama, April 27, 2010

Bahrain City Centre, a leading shopping mall in Bahrain, has launched the Kingdom’s first indoor mall walking programme, City Walkers, with over 50 residents taking part.

Organised by Bahrain City Centre in association with the Capital Governorate, Ministry of Health and Fitness First, the new City Walkers programme aims to promote the benefits of staying fit and leading a healthy lifestyle.

“This is a great program and a much needed initiative for Bahrain,” said Ray Scott, general manager, Bahrain City Centre.

“Our aim is to help promote a healthy lifestyle by offering residents the opportunity to use our premises which provide a convenient, safe and climate controlled atmosphere to stay fit. And, it’s absolutely free,” he added.

Bahrain City Centre’s City Walkers programme is offered every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday and covers a two kilometre walk inside the mall.

This supervised fitness programme allows members to progress at their own pace with a Fitness First personal trainer on hand to motivate, guide and provide useful tips and information. – TradeArabia News Service
