No meningitis cases in Dubai says DHA

DUBAI, November 5, 2015

The Dubai Health Authority has reassured that there are no cases of meningococcal meningitis in Dubai.

A four-year-old girl died in a private hospital in Dubai and rumours were spreading that she had meningococcal meningitis, DHA said and added: "This is incorrect information."

DHA teams took swift action, we conducted our own medical examinations and we confirm that there are no cases of meningococcal meningitis in Dubai.

DHA said people should rely only on official information "as the spread of rumours across social media can cause unnecessary panic."

"We would like to reiterate that there are no cases of meningococcal meningitis and that the DHA’s policy is always transparency, especially in such cases," it said.

The DHA is well prepared to tackle any contagious  diseases, it said. - TradeArabia News Service
