Telemedicine platform ‘Saleem’ to launch in Bahrain

MANAMA, January 15, 2023

Saleem Telemedicine, a medical platform making cross border healthcare accessible for everyone, everywhere, will launch in the Bahraini market in March 2023. 
 
Saleem Telemedicine aims to address key issues for both patients and doctors when it comes to the exchange of medical data, access to cross-border advisory and treatment plans and marketing services to a global audience of health seekers. 
 
The platform aims to  create a digital bridge between patients and doctors in the kingdom and the region.
 
Private pre-launch event
The announcement was made at a private pre-launch event at Al-Khalifiyah Library on January 11, 2023. The event was held in partnership with Bahrain Specialist Hospital (BSH) and representatives from the EU, including Clinic Bel Etage – Düsseldorf, Germany and Merian Iselin Clinic – Basel, Switzerland.
 
The exclusive event was attended by high-level governmental entities and key leaders within the health, investment and labour sector. Prominent guests included Acting CEO of NHRA, Dr Hessa AlDoseri, Majed K Ardati, COO of Bahrain Specialist Hospital, senior management from Tamkeen, Mumtalakat, Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB Bahrain), the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) and healthcare stakeholders and representatives from the region and the EU such as Clinic Bel Etage – Düsseldorf, Germany and Merian Iselin Clinic – Basel, Switzerland. The event was moderated by Dr Eberhard Scheuer, President of the dHealth Network; a layer-one blockchain centered around healthcare use-cases.
 
The event concluded with a signing ceremony conducted between Saleem Telemedicine and Bahrain Specialist Hospital Bahrain - Khalid Sater, Co-Founder of Saleem Telemedicine and Majed K. Ardati, Chief Operating Officer of Bahrain Special Hospital.
 
Cross-border delivery
Sater said: “The adoption of telemedicine has increased significantly in recent years, witnessing several shifts that are shaping the digital healthcare sector. Across the Gulf especially, cross-border delivery of telemedicine continues to evolve in line with the needs of the community and modern-day patients. Saleem Telemedicine will build a trusting foundation between doctors and patients in Bahrain, while maximising patient experience in cross-border healthcare.”
 
He added: “The user-friendly platform that utilises key resources to target the emotional medical needs of the user through a new wave of medical communication, enables users to access comfortable, accessible, and personal healthcare. We are happy to kickstart this journey with Bahrain Specialist Hospital in the kingdom to deliver the best cross-border healthcare services on demand.”
