Global giants eye ME plastics industry
Dubai

A number of global players are keen to make a foray into the Middle East plastics industry despite the current financial crisis, according to an industry expert.

These companies feel the current situation in the plastic sector is very robust, said Satish Khanna, general manager, Al Fajer Information and Services, co-organiser of the show.

Many of these companies will be showcasing the latest developments in plastics and rubber to the visiting trade professionals mainly from all across the Middle East, North Africa and the Indian sub-continent at ArabPlast 2009.

ArabPlast is one of the most successful international trade fairs focused on plastics, plastic packaging and processing and rubber industry, he noted.

'Several multi-billion dollar deals have been closed during the eight editions of the show. The event has significantly increased its lead as the region’s most important and leading trade show for plastics and rubber industry,' Khanna pointed out.

The national pavilions of Germany, Austria, UK, Italy, Iran, Egypt, Morocco, Korea, China, Taiwan, US and India will be at the show besides different individual companies.

'Exhibitors' optimism over ArabPlast has grown considerably high. This positive mood marked by record number of exhibitors, besides new country participations and display of state-of-the-technology machinery and products are confirmed at the region’s leading trade fair for Plastics and Rubber Industry,' he stated.

Qatar Petrochemical Company (Qapco), the principle sponsor of ArabPlast 2009, will sustain its efforts and success in building a global marketing and supply chain network that strives on excellence in customers' services and outstanding products' quality.

On the other hand, Borouge, the gold sponsor, will use the show to reaffirm its leading position in meeting the rapidly increasing demands of petrochemicals.

According to him, the trade visitors will get a glimpse of the latest solutions for plastic machinery and plastic related equipments as well as raw materials and thermoforming and packaging-related products.

'Visitors will also focus their attention on plastics processing machinery, polymers and masterbatches, molding machineries, plastic films, wrapping technology, plastic finished goods, household plastics, industrial plastics, devices as well as accessories,' Khanna added.-TradeArabia News Service
