Honeywell showcases solutions at rail exhibition

DUBAI, March 18, 2015

Honeywell, a global technology company, is showcasing its integrated solutions at the Middle East Rail Exhibition, a leading trade show for the rail and infrastructure industries currently under way in Dubai, UAE.

The event, at the Dubai World Trade Centre, will conclude today.

The GCC is investing heavily in a  rail network which will ultimately link all-the-six Gulf states by rail for the first time. This will serve to boost inter-regional trade and will provide relief to the current air and sea travel options, which have become heavily congested, said a statement.

The GCC rail route is estimated to cover more than 2,000 km when complete and currently involves around 24 rail network projects, with some of the larger projects including the Etihad Railway network, Riyadh Metro, Jeddah Metro, and the Qatar Integrated Rail Project, it added.

These multi-billion-dollar rail investments are driving strong regional demand for scalable and high-quality security and building solutions that meet the challenging needs of passenger safety whilst improving efficiencies.

During the two-day show, Honeywell will showcase its integrated solutions for rail and metros, which are focused on enhancing safety and security, and optimising performance. This includes solutions such as energy management, surveillance and access control, fire detection and alarm, public address and voice alarm systems, in addition to project design, engineering, systems integration, maintenance and servicing.

Mark Fenton, business leader for Honeywell Fire Safety, High Growth Regions, said: “Honeywell’s integrated building and fire safety solutions portfolio is scalable, can be customised to the needs of any facility and reduces operational costs for our customers.”

“Our connected technology brings together control systems and business network information to optimise response times, minimise impact and improve situational awareness. In addition, most of the products come with easy-to-use reporting and self-documenting templates providing transparency in managing any facility,” he said.

“Our global and more specifically regional experience of working on large rail and metro projects has helped us to develop a comprehensive understanding of the unique characteristics of the local market. Our consultants are industry specialists and engage with customers early on in the project, providing design and systems expertise that help in the development of effective infrastructure projects,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
