The HexaCopter UAV

Merlin Digital rolls out new mini drones

DUBAI, July 19, 2016

Merlin Digital, a Dubai-based consumer electronics company with a global presence, has introduced three new drones in its range of robotics - HexaCopter UAV, Nano QuadCopter and Mini QuadCopter UAV.

The Mini QuadCopter UAV is an advanced radio-controlled aircraft that comes together in an easy-to-use, all-in-one flying platform, said a statement from Merlin Digital.

Due to its small size, the drone can perform 360-degree flips and stunts with its advanced aerodynamics. With the built-in high-quality camera, one can shoot and capture stunning 480p images and videos directly to a microSD card, it stated.

The model, which comes with a user-friendly RF controller, will be available for retail at Dh195 ($53.09).

The HexaCopter UAV is the next step up from a quadcopter. With six motors and corresponding high-power propellers, it is capable of photographing the surroundings from an incredible aerial perspective. With the accompanying full-featured app and RF controller, it is available at Dh595 ($161.9), said the company statement.

The Nano QuadCopter, measuring at just 3.1 cm, is not only the smallest drone in the world, but also the lightest. This device can sit snugly on a thumb and fly on precision-controlled exercises into the narrowest of nooks. It will retail at Dh150 ($40.8), it added.

Commenting on the new range, Sharad Hiro Bachani, co-founder and CEO, said: “Drones have been taking the world by storm this year, and we’ve been making our drones smaller and smarter with efficient camera quality for a complete mobile experience.”

“Quadcopters are useful to a lot of people in different situations, from kids playing spies to vloggers and journalists looking to make exceptional aerial videos, and even for the general public looking to capture their home moments and vacations this summer,” he said.

Rohit Hiro Bachani, co-founder and director, said: “As more and more people are going home or abroad for the summer, I believe a sturdy camera that goes where you go is ideal to store your memories without invasive photography.”

“The idea behind creating small drones is that their compactness makes them easier to store, carry and make comfortable flights and landings. And our quadcopters are made of sturdy materials, so if yours accidentally falls or crashes into a nearby object, it will not suffer damages like higher-end but more delicate drones,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
