EGA backs DCCE’s green economy report

DUBAI, November 13, 2016

UAE-based Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) will support the Dubai Carbon Centre of Excellence (DCCE) by becoming Gold Sponsor of its ‘The State of Green Economy Report 2017’.

This is the third edition of the annual publication, which will present the discourse and findings of the third annual World Green Economy Summit (WGES) that took place earlier this year, while simultaneously showcasing the UAE’s green economic developments through replicable success stories, products, projects and progress against strategies, said a statement from the company.

EGA’s sponsorship of The State of Green Economy Report 2017 was acknowledged on October 2016, during the WGES proceedings, by way of an award that was received by Abdulla Kalban, managing director and CEO; and Khalid Buhumaid, senior vice president, government relations, on behalf of the business.

Kalban said: “As a leader in our sector and our nation, our company is renowned for ongoing innovation, business excellence, knowledge, experience and technical expertise comes with the responsibility of serving as a role model for others – especially in terms of sustainable development.”

“We operate with a deep commitment to sustainability principles, driven by a quest to produce ‘green’ metal by achieving zero harm to the environment and people, optimising our energy-consumption, contributing meaningfully to the communities where we operate, and more,” he said.

“As a proudly Emirati-owned business, it is our privilege to support the ambitions of our government and to promote the excellent work being done towards a green economy in the UAE,” he added.

“The report offers us a powerful platform for raising awareness of our company’s sustainability efforts and our achievements among international audiences. We have been an active member of the DCCE since the latter’s inception. Our association with DCCE and the report will strengthen our established reputation and further boost the confidence of our customers and suppliers,” Kalban concluded. – TradeArabia News Service
