Dulux adopts LEED standards
Dubai

Dulux, supplied throughout the Middle East by Al Gurg Leigh’s Paints, has announced that it employs LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) standards in all its paints.

Al Gurg Leigh’s Paints is the first paint company in the UAE to become members of the US Green Building Council, said an official.

“The paint industry is becoming much more aware and responsible,” said Sunil Gudur, chief manager, Al Gurg Leigh’s Paints.

“It is now possible to provide high-quality industrial paint solutions which have little or no impact on the environment. We intend to educate the industry in looking for the best paint solutions, not the cheapest,” he added.

Coatings from Al Gurg Leigh’s Paint were used on some of the most iconic structures throughout the Middle East, including the helipad and the bridge of the Bur Al Arab, the Maktoum Bridge, and the Sheikh Khalifa Bridge in Bahrain.

“Leigh’s paints has more than 100 years of experience in manufacturing the most reliable paint coatings in the world, and is also one of the most environmentally-friendly,” he added.

Professional coatings for the many structures under construction around the UAE and wider Middle East are vital to ensuring the longevity of the buildings in the unique climate.

Paint manufacturers are producing safer, water-based paints that are non-toxic, containing no lead or mercury, that provide even more impressive results, in line with growing global awareness of green practices.

Recent scientific developments now allow paint coatings to provide outstanding industrial protection while also helping to reduce the carbon footprint.-TradeArabia News Service
