Al Khobar hosts technology forum
Riyadh

A forum is being held to discuss how technology can be used to make industrial products as a competitive advantage.

Scitech, the Prince Sultan Institute for Science & Technology in Al Khobar, will host the forum on May 10, 2008.

In this age of the global market, there is increasing emphasis on rapidly producing innovative and quality products and according to customer specification, the organisers said in a statement.

The Scitech Forum will act as an introduction to the latest product development technologies that are used by the most advanced industrial organisations worldwide and are now available and supported in the kingdom.

Amongst the technologies presented and their benefits within the product development process will be:  CAD/CAM/CAE, Direct Digital Manufacturing, Rapid Prototyping and Rapid Tooling, CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics), Engineering Calculations, and Quality Control & Reverse Engineering & Inspection.

Scott Crump, the CEO & President of Stratasys Inc, USA, a world leader in rapid prototyping technology and direct digital manufacturing solutions, is a key speaker in the Forum.

Stratasys holds over 180 granted or pending rapid prototyping patents globally and products are used in the aerospace, defence, automotive, medical, education, electronic, and consumer product industries. Scott will be showing how companies leverage direct digital manufacturing and rapid prototyping to become outstanding companies in their fields, with some interesting industry examples.

At the forum, MK Technologies President Michael Kügelgen will be showing Vacuum Casting, the advanced technology for short runs of metal parts and other award winning, innovative, investment casting solutions. – TradeArabia News Service
