Bahrain’s Mena Telecom has moved a step closer to launching its WiMax services across the kingdom by increasing its friendly test users to 200.
It has also incorporated numerous business and residential packages into the testing phase, the company said.
The investment subsidiary of Kuwait Finance House (Bahrain) has recently opened one of the first advanced end-to-end WiMAX 802.16e operation centres in the world.
With a full nationwide launch on the horizon, the company is adding friendly test users at intervals to test its network stability, performance and response times. The latest addition marks the success of preceding tests and readiness to continue with a full-scale nationwide rollout, it said.
“Everything is going as planned with our core and backup sites, and our friendly users who are testing our services have reported a significantly faster service than their previous providers, in addition to a stable web browsing experience,” said Abdul Razak Jawahery, executive manager Kuwait Finance House (Bahrain), representing KFH as vice-chairman and managing director of Mena Telecom.
“We are now ready for more rigorous testing, and soon, a nationwide rollout. Our testing will now continue with a higher network load to insure accurate results and a trouble-free experience for our valued customers.”
Also present was Dr. Nawaf Al Hamer who personally received a WiMAX unit from. Jawahery and is now the latest addition to friendly users community.
Mena Telecom has promised to revolutionise the telecommunications industry in the kingdom and beyond. Customers will soon experience the web using the latest cutting edge wireless technology available in the world, it said. – Trade Arabia News Service
