Bahrain's Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) and the Business Advisory Group (BAG) plan to host a seminar on the establishment of an association for the kingdom's telecommunications business users.
The event will be held on October 13 at the Gulf Hotel and will be open for all businesses to attend, said a report in our sister publication, the Gulf Daily News.
The seminar is aimed to inform business leaders of the dramatic benefits that modern information and communications technology (ICT) can bring to their enterprises, and pursuit of maximum choice and world-class quality of service at the lowest possible price, by forming an independent body by the business users.
Leader of the Regulatory Affairs Forum at the Communications Management Association (CMA) of the UK, David Harrington, will be presenting CMA's experience as a model association for establishing the Bahrain Telecommunications Business Users Association.
"We are pleased to welcome Mr Harrington, who has extensive experience in the telecommunications and technology sector, particularly with regard to telecommunications business users' related issues, which will be reflected in his presentation," said Business Users Advisory Group chairman Ahmed Bin Hindi.
"We are confident that this presentation will be very useful and will lead to productive discussions on protecting consumers' interests in the kingdom," he added.
"We strongly encourage all businesses to attend this seminar and participate in the forming an independent association for business users," added TRA consumer affairs manager Ghada Ebrahim.
"This is an effective tool for businesses to organise and co-ordinate their effort, in order to voice their opinion and concerns, with the aim to achieve their goals in obtaining telecommunications services of good variety, quality of service and at good prices." - TradeArabia News Service
