Qtel launches new service for Qatar companies

Doha, September 28, 2010

Qatar Telecom (Qtel) is launching 'Business Group', a new service that enables companies to fully manage mobile telecommunications for employees.

With Business Group, companies can now create a Closed User Group for their employees, so that the whole team can be managed as a single account, even with hundreds of different mobile numbers.

This is the first time that such a service has been provided for organisations in Qatar, and Qtel is one of the regional pioneers of this type of service, a statement said.

Companies who deploy the Business Group solution can get 1,000 free minutes for each employee in the group to call each other, offering a massive saving on company communication bills.

Companies can control the types of calls employees can make on their mobiles, use their own short numbers internally, and even assign VIP numbers to specific people.

With a VIP number, an employee will be able to call anyone who is within the group for free without limits, with one VIP number allocated for every 50 GSM lines in the company’s Closed User Group.

Companies can also assign unique short numbers – between 2 to 4 digits – for use within the group. Business group members will be able to reach each other quickly and easily by deploying these shorter numbers.

Business Group offers an online interface where companies can centrally manage all aspects of their Closed User Groups. New employees can be added immediately to the group and different permission levels can be applied for international and local calls.-TradeArabia News Service
