Bahrain, Qatar sign causeway deal
Manama

Bahrain and Qatar yesterday signed a landmark causeway agreement in the presence of Bahrain's Deputy King Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Qatari Crown Prince Shaikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

The Bahrain-Qatar causeway is an outstanding landmark in bilateral co-operation, the largest joint project ever, a dream that has come true, an embodiment of deep-rooted ties and a reflection of family kinship, said Shaikh Salman.

He called for further joint projects.

Shaikh Salman and Shaikh Tamim co-chaired in Manama the 8th session of the joint Bahraini- Qatari Supreme Co-operation Committee.

Shaikh Salman said that despite tremendous achievements of the joint committee, both sides were still looking forward to more action to realise the common vision of His Majesty King Hamad and Qatari Amir Shaikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

Shaikh Tamim extended his thanks and appreciation to the kingdom, leadership, government and people for their warm welcome and keen desire to boost bilateral ties to even higher levels.

He wished the committee success in realising the hopes pinned on such a vital project with the conclusion of the causeway design agreement. - TradeArabia News Service
