Palms Sports, provider of sports training programmes and promoter of health and wellness in the region, has announced that the West Yas Community on Yas Island, a leading leisure and entertainment destination, is set to become home to the first ‘Khabib Gym by Palms Sports’. 

 

Spread over a 1,500 sq.m. area leased from Miral, Abu Dhabi’s leading curator of magnetic experiences, the gym is currently under construction. It will be inspired by the training and fitness philosophy of Khabib Nurmagomedov, one of the greatest UFC fighters, and will offer members a fitness experience with world-class amenities.

 

The gym will feature a host of fitness options, including a MMA cage that will allow aspiring athletes and budding fighters to train to the highest standards and build their competitive edge. Staffed with accredited instructors and trainers, the facility will cater to different disciplines of martial arts including a large, matted area for grappling sports such as Jiu-Jitsu and wrestling, and a separate studio for striking-based sports like Muay Thai, boxing and kickboxing. 

 

The facility will include a fully-fledged gym with cardio, fitness and cycling areas as well as a functional training zone, paddle tennis courts, and a swimming pool.

Located on a scenic waterfront, the gym’s indoor facilities are complemented by a spacious external area that hosts several activities including a relaxation pool with shaded cabanas and amenities including showers and changing rooms, as well as a paddle tennis court and an F&B area serving healthy choices. 

 

For water sports enthusiasts, the gym will also offer a host of aquatic activities. With its location on the waterfront, the gym will offer direct access to the marina. 

 

Overlooking the natural mangroves around Yas Island, the waterfront villa community of West Yas is home to retail centres, a community centre and a mosque, with easy access to the island’s theme parks, leisure and entertainment experiences, including hospitality and dining assets.-TradeArabia News Service
