Prince Turki Al Faisal Al Saud, chairman of the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies, Saudi Arabia, was awarded by the Prix de La Fondation at the 19th annual Crans-Montana Forum (CMF) held recently in Monaco.

The award was presented to Prince Turki in recognition of his distinguished efforts as one of the founders of the King Faisal Foundation, and as chairman of the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies, which promotes inter-faith dialogue and understanding between Muslims, Christians and Jews.

Jacques Barrot, vice president of the European Commission and Federico Mayor, co-President, UN High Level Group for the Alliance of Civilizations, presented the awards at an official award ceremony.
 
The Prix de La Fondation has been awarded since 1989 with the aspiration of providing an impetus for the common humanistic values of Peace, Liberty and Democracy.

In the past, the award has been bestowed upon men and women of eminent merit, from all domains of social responsibility, sharing in common a deep respect for the fundamental values of democracy and an ardent desire to create a better world.

Because of its strong symbolic value, Prix de La Fondation is bestowed, not only in recognition of a task accomplished, but as a solemn encouragement in support of a cause and struggle undertaken for the same ideals.-TradeArabia News Service
