Subway to open 7 more Bahrain outlets

Manama, January 31, 2011

Subway restaurants in Bahrain, part of the world’s largest submarine sandwich franchise, announced that it will open seven more outlets by the end of this year.

The restaurant chain said it continues to register rapid growth in Bahrain having expanded into a network of 11 outlets in Manama.

Last year, Subway restaurants opened doors to a further two stores. The expansion came in response to the increasing demand for healthy food options for which Subway restaurants have earned a significant reputation in the country, according to a spokesperson.

“Subway has come to be regarded as a restaurant of choice for the people of Bahrain, across all age segments and nationalities. While on one hand we are delighted with the strong growth trend, we are also happy that our success reflects well on the increasing importance that is being giving to healthy eating in Bahrain,” said Omar Bukhowa, Subway development agent in Bahrain.

Subway recently became the largest submarine sandwich franchise in the Arab world with more than 230 restaurants in some of the most important locations. It currently boasts 104 stores in the UAE, 44 in Kuwait, 42 in Saudi Arabia, 17 in Qatar, 11 in Jordan, 11 in Bahrain, eight in Oman, four in Egypt and three in Lebanon.-TradeArabia News Service
