Bahraini butchers shut shops as meat sales slump

MANAMA, January 4, 2016

Butchers across Bahrain have shut down stalls and laid off staff as business continues to decline. Following the lifting of government subsidies on meat on October 1, many butchers reported a dramatic drop in sales, but three months on, most say things have not improved, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.
