Yas Marina Circuit to host Abu Dhabi Half Marathon

ABU DHABI, November 15, 2020

The 2020 Abu Dhabi Half Marathon will take place at Yas Marina Circuit on November 20, with registrations now open.

The 36th edition of the race, presented by Abu Dhabi Sports Council, is the latest sporting event to be held on Yas Island, providing a platform for the local community to get involved and compete in a testing challenge focused on fitness and endurance.

As well as the Half Marathon, there will also be a 10K race, with both adult and junior categories for each, and competitors wishing to take part are advised to register now in order to avoid disappointment.

Cost of entry starts from AED180 for adults and AED150 for juniors, with a race T-shirt and fashion face mask included in the price.

The Junior 10K race is open to participants aged 12-18, while the Junior Half Marathon is open to those aged 16-18.

The Abu Dhabi Half Marathon was first hosted by Abu Dhabi Striders, one of the city’s most active running groups, in 1984, and this year moves to Yas Marina Circuit, home of the Etihad Airways Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2020, for the first time.

The event will start and finish at Yas Marina Circuit with runners completing a lap of the track, heading out towards Shams Tower, and then across towards East Gate, before returning to the track for a second lap.

Precautionary measures will be implemented in and around the Circuit to ensure the safety of everybody in attendance. Registration closes on November 18. - TradeArabia News Service
