Mercedes-Benz debuts new AMG in Bahrain

All Haddad Motors, the authorised distributor for Mercedes-Benz in Bahrain, has unveiled the Mercedes-Benz ML 63 AMG, a mid-size luxury sport utility vehicle (SUV).
"Like its predecessors, the new ML 63 AMG sets new standards in terms of performance, exclusivity and a superlative driving experience. As the inventor of the high-performance SUV, we remain true to the philosophy with this 3rd generation ML63 AMG,” said Graeme Newport, general manager of Al Haddad Motors.
“Powered by a new AMG 5.5-litre V8 biturbo engine, the new ML63 generates 525 hp and 700 Newton metres of torque. In conjunction with the AMG Performance package these values rise to 557 hp and 760 Newton metres and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and 4.7 seconds respectively,” he added.
Power transmission to all four permanently driven wheels is performed by the AMG Speedshift Plus 7G-Tronic system which automatically double-declutches for downshifting. New on this generation is the Active Curve System which provides roll stabilisation at high speeds, he pointed out.
Mark Price, sales manager at Al Haddad said “As you would expect from Mercedes and AMG, there is a sporty character and the premium quality of the interior defines this high-performance SUV from AMG. The interior equipment includes electrically adjustable AMG sports seats, the four-spoke AMG Performance steering wheel and aluminium shift paddles.
“The standard leather upholstery includes contrasting double topstitching and AMG badges in the backrests of the front seats and the outer rear seats.”
Newport added: “AMG is celebrating its 45th anniversary, and the current AMG model range is becoming larger and more varied than ever. Sales of AMG models in Bahrain are up over 80 per cent this year which is testament to both the cars and the focus we have created in Al Haddad Motors in 2012.” – TradeArabia News Service
