Careem buys RoundMenu, plans food delivery serivce

Careem, a ride-hailing company in the Middle East, said has acquired RoundMenu, an online restaurants platform, and plans to start trialling food delivery services through platform this month, a Reuters report said quoting the company.
The value of the deal has not been disclosed, the report said.
“Careem will begin testing a delivery capability for RoundMenu customers on a small scale later this month,” the company said in a statement to Reuters.
RoundMenu claims that it's the number one has restaurant discovery platform in the UAE and has a presence in 18 cities across nine Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Egypt.
RoundMenu has raised $3.1 million in funding since it launched in 2012, the Careem statement said.
