Iraq calls proposals to develop small oil fields

BAGHDAD, October 25, 2016

Iraq has requested proposals from international oil companies interested in developing a number of small- and medium-sized oil fields, Iraq Business News reported.

The fields include Sindebad, Umm Qasr, Rachi, Abu Khema  in the Basra governorate and Kumait  Noor, Umara, Dema and Dujaila in the Missan governorate.

The companies already qualified to bid include China Zhenhua Oil Company (China), Dragon Oil (UAE), Edison (Italy) and Glencore Exploration (Switzerland), among others.

Tenders from non-qualified companies will also be considered, the report said.
