Spring Promotions campaign intensified

The coordinating committee of the Sharjah Spring Promotions (SSP) 2009 held a meeting at the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI).
At the meeting, participating departments, agencies and government institutions discussed and reviewed possibilities of intensifying Sharjah’s marketing and promotional campaigns for the coming year.
The organising committee of Sharjah Spring Promotions 2009 also made a presentation that informed the participants of all ongoing preparations being made for the Spring Festival which will run for a 40-day period starting January 15, 2009.
Discussions also revolved around the ongoing preparations for Sharjah Spring Promotions 2009, which is considered to be one of the most awaited events in Sharjah.
Present during the meeting were director general, SCCI Hussein Mohammad Al Mahmoudi; director general, Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) Mohammed Ali Al Noman; director general of Expo Centre Sharjah Saif Mohammed Al Midfa; CEO of Al Qasba Development Authority Marwan Jassim Al Sarkal and director of arts, Department of Culture and Information, Hisham Al Mazloom.
Others present included representatives from the Economic Development Department, Sharjah Municipality, the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, social development centres and Sharjah Museums Management Authority.
During the meeting, a comprehensive review was made on Sharjah’s marketing and promotional campaigns, discussing the possibility of further enhancing and developing the strategies to help boost Sharjah’s status in the different sectors of trade, tourism, art, sports and culture.
The participants decided on holding more specialised and integrated events to bolster Sharjah’s position not only on the domestic front but in the international trade and tourism market as well.
“The Sharjah Spring Promotions promises to be more exciting this year. Different events and activities will be held in various places in the emirate, which will include special promotions in various shopping centers and recreational activities in the gardens and parks that will be held in cooperation with Sharjah Municipality. We are confident that this year’s festival will generate substantial interest and underline Sharjah’s standing as a prime destination for business and leisure,” said SCCI director for economic affairs Ibrahim Rashid Al Jarwan.
Other activities scheduled for the festival are a "Touches" exhibition, organised by the Family Development Centre in Al Qasba; desert activities held in the Al Budayr region in cooperation with the SCTDA; beach events in cooperation with Sharjah Girl Guides; and a marketing fair and exhibition featuring the eastern region’s top trade and wares. – TradeArabia News Service
