Abu Dhabi Ship Building (ADSB) and Rolls-Royce Marine Middle East have joined hands to create a Waterjet Centre of Excellence in Abu Dhabi.
The centre will provide support services to its customers in the GCC region, a report said.
ADSB is the sole naval shipyard in the region which offers build and support services for all the region's naval vessels.
Rolls-Royce will support ADSB for services such as training, maintenance, repairs and overhauls, spare parts and service contracts for waterjet customers. Even commercial vessels that have waterjets can avail these services, according to the Gulf News report.
Some of the UAE Navy and UAE Coastguard vessels built by ADSB have Rolls-Royce waterjets.
