Bahrain’s national carrier Gulf Air has appointed the first female Bahraini aviation security professional.

The airline announced that Hala Azzam became the first Bahraini woman to receive accreditation for completing the Aviation Security Professional Management Course, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

She completed the programme developed by the International Civil Aviation Organisation in collaboration with the John Molson School of Business at Concordia University, Montreal, Canada.

The accomplishment means she is one of less than 200 Middle East participants and 631 global participants to have successfully graduated the course.

Gulf Air acting chief executive Maher Salman Al Musallam congratulated Ms Azzam for her accomplishment. - TradeArabia News Service
