Hilton 'top hospitality company to work for in the UAE'

DUBAI, March 14, 2016

Hilton Worldwide has been officially recognised as the top hospitality company to work for the UAE in 2016, by Great Place to Work, a global research, training and consultancy firm that identifies the best workplaces in over 50 countries worldwide.

The 2016 list ranked the country’s best employers based on the confidential feedback of team members and a review of management practices.

Hilton, which welcomes guests to 22 properties in the UAE and has plans to open 17 additional UAE hotels in the coming years, was ranked as the leading hospitality company on the list, and as a top 10 company in the Emirates. The recognition was underpinned by the company’s extraordinary team of professionals providing outstanding learning and development programmes, such as access to Hilton Worldwide University, an online resource offering over 2,500 learning opportunities across e-learning, webinars, eBooks and articles. The hospitality provider’s endeavors to recognise, celebrate, and thank its team for spreading the light and warmth of hospitality, also stood out to the judges as industry leading – and positioned Hilton as the natural choice to take home the coveted title.

“We are extremely passionate about recognising the vital contribution team members make to our organisation as we continue to grow our portfolio across the UAE. To be recognised as the greatest hospitality company to work for in the UAE is testament to Hilton’s care for our teams and to our commitment to building rewarding careers for all,” said, Koray Genckul, senior director, Human Resources, Hilton Worldwide Middle East & Africa and Turkey.

As part of its dedication to creating strong career prospects and a positive work environment, Hilton’s Global Month of Service contributed to its recognition as an employer of choice in the UAE. The month-long global celebration of its efforts to help address social, economic and environmental needs empowered Hilton Team Members to work on 4,145 projects contributing more than 213,000 volunteer hours in 92 countries in 2015. In the UAE, more than 100 Hilton team members from across the company’s seven hotels in Dubai joined children from Al Garhoud National Charity School to receive training on the importance of recycling and sustainability. The event contributes to ongoing efforts led by Hilton UAE hotels to make meaningful contributions to the communities in which their team members live, work and travel.

Commenting on the Top Companies list, Maha Zaatari, managing director of Great Place to Work in the UAE, said: “There is no doubt that this year’s competition was the toughest since we introduced the annual benchmarking programme six years ago. The top 20 list makers truly understand how investing in their workplace cultures leads to stronger business and people performance within their organisations.”

Across the region, Hilton is continuing to develop its talent to support its growing presence in Europe, Middle East & Africa. This month, the hospitality provider announced plans to debut the upscale Embassy by Hilton brand in the Middle East, with the signing of a property on Riyadh’s King Fahd Road – while development of a country-first Curio – A Collection by Hilton in UAE is underway throughout 2016, with the opening on The Rosemont Hotels & Residences, Dubai in 2018. This follows a wave of interest in the company’s mid-market offering which has seen the company open three Hilton Garden Inn hotels in the UAE over the past six months, alongside plans to launch Hampton by Hilton in the Middle East, with the largest property for the brand anywhere in the world, Hampton by Hilton Dubai Al Qusais. - TradeArabia News Service
