Alto opens in Downtown Rotana

MANAMA, May 7, 2017

Alto, an Arabian inspired lounge and restaurant, held its official opening yesterday (May 6) at Downtown Rotana.

Located on the 25th floor of the hotel, Alto’s opening was attended by senior government officials, VIPs, dignitaries, prominent members of the business community, and Downtown Rotana management, as well as members of the Board of Directors and management of the BMMI Group, which is behind the creation of Alto.

Boasting sweeping, panoramic views of Manama, Alto is the ultimate cosmopolitan escape destination, where guests can unwind after a long day and enjoy the company of a sophisticated clientele. From the glamorous interiors and the eclectic music inspired by regional and international tunes, to the carefully selected, meticulously prepared food and crafted beverages, Alto is rooted in regional tradition, with contemporary interpretation.

“We are delighted to celebrate the opening of Alto and I am delighted to share our contemporary lounge concept with our guests,” said BMMI CEO, Marek Sheridan. “The Alto concept is inspired by Arabian values of hospitality and generosity and we wanted to create a space that honours those ideals in a modern setting.  We wanted our guests to experience the genuine warmth of the regions hospitality and the depth of Bahrain’s modern, innovative culture combining with many international influences across the décor, menu and entertainment.”

At the opening, guests had a chance to explore the venue and to sample some of the items on Alto’s food and beverages menus, while being entertained by local performers.
Inspired by the opulence and charm of the region, Alto’s interiors utilise geometric and arabesque designs that are based on the mesmerising shapes in Arabian architecture.  This is complemented by the stunning outdoor terrace that boasts an awe-inspiring view of the capital.

With a contemporary take on regional cuisine, Alto’s chefs have developed a modern Arabic motif, transforming traditional favourites using novel ingredients and inspired twists. Alto’s food menu draws from the Middle East’s diverse cuisines, combining local, regional and wider flavours in surprising and delightful ways.

“We wanted to make sure that guests can enjoy every single aspect of Alto,” said James Johnston, vice president of Bayader, the BMMI division responsible for restaurants. “From the interior design to the impressive outdoor terrace, the unique items listed on our menu and our fusion music, we have tried to think of every single thing to make every visit to Alto special. It’s our aim to make sure that every moment at Alto is truly memorable and we hope that our customers will enjoy our unique blend of tradition and modernity.”

Alto is open from noon until the early hours, making it the ultimate destination for enjoying both business and private affairs during the day and into the night.  The venue is open seven days a week and a dedicated valet team is available to take care of guests’ parking needs. For reservations or inquiries, guests can reach Alto on +973 17210550. - TradeArabia News Service
