Internationally acclaimed jazz artists to open music festival

DUBAI, January 23, 2018

Chillout Productions has announced their final line up of all artists showcasing at the 16th edition of the Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival 2018.

Previously, the organisers had confirmed that Grammy award winning Duran Duran, John Legend, and the evergreen Ricky Martin would be setting the stage ablaze with their performances at the festival, taking place at the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre between February 21 and 23.

Along with these, prepare to be mesmerized through power packed performances by masters of Jazz, Renegade Brass Band, China Moses, and Poncho Sanchez. Prepare to witness a jazz festival like no other with beats, brass, vinyl and lyrics fused together with emotion.

Day 1: Renegade Brass Band
Having played alongside artists including De La Soul, Grandmaster Flash, Public Enemy and Busta Rhymes, and at festivals including Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party, Soundwave Croatia and Boomtown, Renegade Brass Band have established themselves as a premiere hip-hop brass band outfit. They are known for their high-energy live shows and have played packed out gigs at venues around the UK. Their eclectic mix of brass, jazz, beats, and hip-hop will have the crowd dancing before Duran Duran take the stage to headline the festival’s opening night.

Day 2: China Moses
China Moses released her first single “Time” at the age of 16, which only led to more successful albums. Having worked and performed with renowned names like Guru, DJ Mehdi, Karriem Riggins, Meshell Ndegeocello, Anthony Marshall, sound engineer Bob Power and pianist Raphaël Lemonnier, the singer has carved her own terrain through her journey of music. She is the rare young, female artist - capable of swinging with the finest and drawing on her innate mastery of tempo. Her soulful voice and mesmerizing shows set the stage for hugely popular Grammy award winner John Legend, who is returning to the Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival.

Day 3: Poncho Sanchez
Having been musically influenced by prominent figures of Latin Jazz, conga drummer and composer Chano Pozo and trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie, Poncho Sanchez has joined forces multi-Grammy winning trumpeter Terence Blanchard to pay tribute to the two in his previous albums. Growing up in suburban L.A., Sanchez was raised on sensibilities of sounds that included straight ahead jazz, Latin jazz and American soul. His scintillating Latino influenced fusion of sound introduces one of the most popular Latino acts of the last two decades, Ricky Martin, who continues to sell-out venues around the world, and in 2016 won the Grammy award for ‘Best Latin Pop Album.’

Anthony Younes, founder and CEO of Chillout Productions, commented on the upcoming Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival: “We are incredibly excited for the 16th edition. Each of the three nights offers something spectacular and special and each will be completely different. The Renegade Brass Band is renowned for their unique festival flavour and I think they’ll set the tone for the entire festival, right through until Poncho Sanchez and Ricky Martin send the audience into a frenzy on the final night. John Legend has been one of the festival’s most popular artists over the years, and it’s an absolute pleasure to welcome him back, and to introduce the incredible China Moses to music fans in Dubai.” - TradeArabia News Service
