The third Amadeus Champions Club gathering, held at Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, brought together industry leaders from across the emirates in celebration of their successes throughout the year.

Amadeus Champions Club gathers travel experts for knowledge-sharing and sector-focused discussions, with the ambition of enhancing relationships within the field and increasing growth prospects for specialists.

During the event, Amadeus announced its 2019 Jedi Grand Master, Ubaid Ur Rahman, from Mohebi Aviation. Amadeus Jedi Masters is a loyalty programme for bookers who have been active supporters and contributors in terms of knowledge, providing solutions, and more. The company also welcomed the Amadeus Champions Club Jedi Masters including Aji Oommen from Akbar Travels; Siddique Samad from Al Jaraf Travels; Richard Gomes from Gray Mackenzie Travel, and new entrants into the Jedi Master category, Nasneen Yacoob from Holiday Factory Package Tours, and Naveen Kumar from Sharaf Travel Services.

Alongside educational and informative sessions, the Amadeus Champions Club encouraged its attendees to take part in team-building exercises such as karting on the Formula One track.

Rajat Bhutani, sales director for Abu Dhabi and Al Ain at Amadeus Gulf, said: “This year’s Amadeus Champions Club initiative was our biggest yet, as we combine education and entertainment to provide our partners with an exciting yet informative event that is full of fun, interactive sessions. The Amadeus Champions Club continues to grow in popularity amongst travel partners, resulting in active participation that has prompted continuous innovation from Amadeus as we seek new ways to advance the industry.”

Cristian Sucu, director – Operations, Amadeus Gulf, said: “The Amadeus Champions Club continues to deliver exceptional value to its members, both for the individuals and the companies they represent. We now have over 40 members from the leading travel agencies in the country and we are a very closely-knit group, constantly supporting each other with information, knowledge, updates and, of course, having quite a bit of fun together.”

Launched in the Gulf region in 2017, the Amadeus Champions Club connects local travel agents and other travel industry leaders to review new policies, challenge traditional business models, and develop mutually-beneficial market intelligence. Team-building and social activities, such as go-karting and cycling, are core components of the programme. Members offered a space within the Amadeus Champions Club are recognised for their exceptional knowledge of and history within the region’s travel industry. - TradeArabia News Service
