The H Dubai awarded Green Key Certification

DUBAI, May 6, 2021

The H Dubai, situated at the heart of Dubai, has been awarded The Green Key Certification for 2021 by the Emirates Green Building Council.

By meeting the high standards of environmental requirements of Green Key, The H Dubai demonstrates its commitment for continuous and consistent efforts for various sustainability undertakings.

Green Key awards hotels, hostels, small accommodations, campsites, and many more tourism establishments worldwide for adhering to work with sustainability in a structured way. Following the extensive criteria set by the Foundation for Environmental Education, The H Dubai has been awarded with The Green Key Certification by the UAE National Operator, the Emirates Green Building Council, as a property that has carried out responsible and sustainable operation within the tourism industry.

Sophie Blondel, General Manager at The H Dubai, said: “We are extremely proud to have been awarded the Green Key Certificate, and to be recognised for our sustainable efforts throughout the property. We understand the importance of implementing eco-friendly initiatives, and the benefits it has on the environment so we will continue our efforts to do so for many years to come.”

Through the years, The H Dubai has promoted an environmentally-conscious focus within the property and the team members. The popular getaway destination continually strives to develop practices to preserve and protect natural resources while providing world-class service and experience to guests. With the goal of energy and water conservation, the hotel has implemented the use of green cards and green stickers in the room. The property has also introduced Super Green Vouchers through which guests can choose not to have their room cleaned for the day. In return they receive a voucher which can be redeemed at the hotel or donated for a charitable cause. The dining outlets in the hotel also ensures to focus on using organic and local produce when preparing all meals for guests.

The H Dubai, as all of the hotels at Story Hospitality, embraces an eco-project based on five interconnected pillars. These are: Reduce, Reuse, & Recycle, Protect Wildlife, Reduce Water Consumption, Energy Conservation, and Local Care & Fair Trade. These elements are intertwined with the aim of improving the environment and projecting the practices to the rest of the world. Alongside the property’s constant efforts to promote sustainability through their eco-project pillars, The H Dubai has recently partnered with DGrade, a sustainable manufacturing company based in Dubai that recycles used plastic water bottles turning it into high-quality clothing and accessories. All polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles consumed at The H Dubai are directly given to DGrade to be recycled.  - TradeArabia News Service
