Tamkeen has signed a MoU with the Specific Council for Training in the Retail Sector which aims at making Bahrainis the employees of choice.
The MoU was signed by council chairperson Amal Al Moayyed and Tamkeen chief executive Abdulellah Al Qassimi.
Al Moayyed stressed the importance of exchanging views and expertise on mechanisms that will develop the skills of the national workforce and to create new job opportunities for Bahraini jobseekers in the sector and also to focus on human capital development in the retail and trade sectors.
Al Qassimi said that this agreement will strengthen co-ordination between the council and Tamkeen which in turn will contribute towards creating a suitable environment within the private sector which will be attractive to Bahrain workers.
Tamkeen has launched a number of programmes for the retail sector in co-operation with the Bahrain Institute for Hospitality and Retail and Bahrain International Retail Development Centre.
They provide training and employment opportunities for those wishing to work in the sector.
More than 1,270 beneficiaries are currently being trained in programmes to provide skills and equip the national workforce for employment in the retail sector.-TradeArabia News Service
