Some of the region’s coolest talent will be part of the Beat The Heat (BTH) - a musical showcase from Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS), in collaboration with Anghami Spotlight.
Ever in tune with the Arab music scene, this summer’s line-up showcases the breadth and diversity of the region’s emerging musical artists, with weekly concerts taking place throughout the summer at The Agenda, Dubai Media City.
Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, said: “Dubai Summer Surprises is a showcase of the very best that Dubai has to offer over the summer season, and that includes supporting our city’s grassroots music scene and providing a platform for local talent. For this year’s edition of Beat the Heat, we have worked with our partners at Anghami Spotlight to curate an exciting and diverse line-up of Arab artists guaranteed to appeal to audiences of residents and visitors throughout the summer months."
"We are thrilled to be working alongside DFRE (Dubai Festivals and Retail establishment) to bring back the highly anticipated 2nd edition of Beat The Heat. After the tremendous success of the previous year, our goal was to create an even more memorable experience for the audience,” said Maher Khoukhaji, Managing Director of Anghami Spotlight. “The lineup is packed with exceptional talent, and we can't wait to see them deliver captivating performances that will leave the crowd amazed,” he added.
Beat the Heat is set to kick off with a bang, as Egyptian rapper WEGZ and rap futurist DizzyTooSkinny take over the stage on July 15. Switching up genres, on 22 July, there’s a chance to experience an epic set from rock band Cairokee and Jordanian-Palestinian singer, songwriter, rapper and percussionist, El Far3i.
If you’re more of a groove aficionado, then you won’t want to miss up-and-coming artists Afroto, Balti, and Soulja on stage on 29 July; and be sure to catch the hip hop and cuban funk band Sharmoofers, plus Jordanian indie band Autostrad, as they perform on 12 August.
Saudi sensation Modi Al Shamrani and the ever-skillful DJ Aseel will be playing to the crowd on 19 August, while Massar Egbari and Disco Misr will end the summer season in style as they take to the stage on 1 September.
