Jordan Airport International Group announced that Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) has won the ‘2025 ACI World-Amadeus Technology Innovation Award’ in the category of ‘Best Innovation in Airport Operations and Installations Management’.
This accolade recognises
the airport’s Smart Cleaning System – an advanced, integrated solution that
redefines facility management through technology and real-time intelligence.
The achievement
follows Airport International Group’s initiative to develop and implement the
Smart Cleaning System in collaboration with the cleaning service provider and
its partners, culminating in the deployment of four state-of-the-art cleaning
robots at QAIA as part of a broader technology ecosystem.
Designed to interface with other airport
systems, the solution leverages real-time data collection and analytics to
optimise cleaning routes and resource allocation in direct response to
passenger traffic patterns and shifting operational needs.
This approach enables
cleaning teams to proactively address high-traffic areas, significantly boosts
efficiency and consistently maintains the highest standards of hygiene
throughout the terminal.
Presented by
Airports Council International (ACI) World in partnership with Amadeus, the
awards honor forward-thinking digital and technological initiatives that
elevate operational excellence and reshape the future of air travel.
QAIA was selected
as one of only four global winners this year, standing out among airports
worldwide for its visionary approach to airport operations and its commitment
to a seamless, efficient and passenger-centric experience.
The award was formally
presented during a gala dinner on 26 November at the Airports Innovate event in
Busan, South Korea, where Airport International Group facilities management and
operations contracts Manager, Fatina Gammoh, represented the company.
QAIA also
featured in a dedicated session highlighting global airport innovations shaping
the next era of travel.
“Winning this
award affirms the path we have chosen — one where smart technologies and human
insight work hand in hand to enhance efficiency, strengthen our operations and
support the warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes QAIA feel like home. The
Smart Cleaning System is a clear example of how data and innovation can improve
comfort and care for millions of passengers who walk through our doors each
year. I extend my sincere thanks to our Facility Management Department and our
partners, whose dedication and expertise were instrumental in bringing this
system to life. This latest recognition from ACI World highlights our alignment
with industry progress, encouraging us to keep devising solutions that elevate
the journey at Jordan’s prime gateway to the world,” commented Airport
International Group CEO, Nicolas Deviller. -TradeArabia News Service
