Heisco lands Kuwait power plant maintenance contract

Heavy Engineering Industries & Shipbuilding Company has announced that it has secured a major contract from Kuwait's Ministry of Electricity & Water & Renewable Energy for supply, commissioning and maintenance services related to the construction of lines feeding Al Khairan Power Plant. 

Kuwait-based Heavy Engineering Industries & Shipbuilding Company has announced that it has secured a new contract worth KD57.2 million ($186 million) from Ministry of Electricity & Water & Renewable Energy.

As per the deal, Heisco will be responsible for the supply, commissioning and maintenance services related to the construction of lines feeding Al Khairan Power Plant as well as the development of infrastructure for fuel receiving systems for Al Zour Plant, said the company in its filing to Boursa Kuwait.

A major EPC contracting company based in Kuwait, Heisco caters to a diversified range of business in oil and gas, petrochemicals, power, pressure equipment manufacturing, shipbuilding and repair, dredging and marine construction.

It has several major projects in its kitty including Jurassic Gas Field Technical Support and Service contract worth $83.8 million and Flowlines and Associated Works in West Kuwait Area 2 worth $220 million (both for KOC).

While in Saudi Arabia, Heisco is actively engaged in the Qurayyah Expansion CCGT IPP project for Saudi Electricity Company after clinching the $139 million contract.-TradeArabia News Service
