Drones target Bahrain, Kuwait airports

Bahrain international airport was targeted by drone, Reuters quoted Interior Ministry as saying. The ministry said the drone only caused material damage.

Kuwait’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) also said Saturday that a drone targeted Kuwait International Airport, causing minor injuries to several employees and limited damage to Terminal 1.

Abdullah Al-Rajhi, the DGCA spokesperson, said relevant authorities immediately implemented approved emergency procedures, and the incident was addressed and the site secured. Al-Rajhi added: “Assessment, repair, and restructuring of operations are currently underway, adhering to the highest safety standards.”

Residential building targeted in Bahrain

Earlier, Bahrain said, through the Civil Defence, it is dealing with damage in three buildings in Manama and Muharraq as a result of drone attacks and falling debris from an intercepted missile.

Government Hospitals in Bahrain announced that amid the hostile attack targeting the Kingdom of Bahrain, Salmaniya Medical Complex received four injured cases.

Three of the injuries were minor and were treated in line with medical protocols before being discharged. The fourth case was described as moderate, and the patient has been placed under medical observation until his condition stabilises, with specialised medical teams continuing to monitor his status.

Government Hospitals confirmed that the emergency response plan has been activated and that readiness levels have been raised across vital departments, particularly emergency, intensive care and support services. It noted that medical and nursing staff, along with the necessary supplies, are fully available to address any developments, ensuring the continued delivery of healthcare services with high efficiency.

The General Command of Bahrain Defence Force announced that the Kingdom's air defence systems have successfully intercepted hostile Iranian attacks, shooting down 45 missiles and 9 drones, including Shahed-136 type drones.

The General Command reassured the public that its defensive systems remain fully operational and at the highest state of readiness to address any threats to the security and safety of the nation.

The General Command further confirmed that specialist field teams are continuing to secure attack sites to ensure the safety of all citizens and residents, reaffirming that its personnel remain vigilant and fully prepared to thwart any aggression targeting the security and stability of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The General Command urged all members of the public to exercise the utmost caution and vigilance, to remain at home and avoid going out except where absolutely necessary, and to refrain from circulating rumours or inaccurate reports. The public is advised to obtain information exclusively from official sources and to stay well clear of attack sites.
