NBB, Injaz host digital skills development workshop for students

The National Bank of Bahrain (NBB), in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and INJAZ Bahrain, recently concluded its “Yalla Learn and Earn” initiative with a Masterclass workshop and student challenge at the Bank’s headquarters.

The event brought together selected teams from 10 secondary schools across the kingdom for an interactive finale aimed at reinforcing financial literacy and digital banking skills.

Following a successful round of in-school sessions where NBB and Injaz Bahrain representatives engaged 500 students, one team from each institution was shortlisted to take part in the final phase.

The Masterclass combined practical learning with real-world application of budgeting and saving through digital tools, culminating in a competition where three winning teams were recognised for their understanding of key financial principles.

Students were also introduced to NBB’s Yalla Family Digital Banking solution, which helps young users build money management discipline from an early age.

Speaking on the occasion, Shaikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chairperson of Injaz Bahrain, said: "Youth empowerment is central to our mission. Together with NBB, we are investing in the development of financial acumen and digital-ready capabilities that will serve Bahrain’s youth well into the future."

"This campaign reflects our shared belief that innovation in education is key to unlocking the full potential of our next generation," she stated.

Suha Saleh Hamada, Director General of School Affairs at the Ministry of Education, said: "The Ministry of Education supports initiatives aimed at enhancing financial literacy and essential life skills among students. Such initiatives align with the educational content taught in schools and contribute to preparing future citizens capable of meeting the demands of practical life. She also praised the partnership with Injaz Bahrain and the National Bank of Bahrain."

Usman Ahmed, Group Chief Executive Officer of NBB, said: "We are proud to partner with the Ministry of Education and Injaz Bahrain to equip youth with essential financial skills and digital banking awareness. This initiative brings our vision to life by encouraging students to apply what they have learned in creative new ways."

"Our Yalla Family Banking solution further supports this goal, offering young users a safe and engaging way to begin their financial journey," he stated.

The campaign is part of NBB’s wider efforts to foster a financially conscious and digitally empowered generation, in line with Bahrain’s national vision for youth development, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
