Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha (K Line) announced the delivery of its second new LNG carrier, Puteri Kedah, to Petronas LNG on June 30, 2026 at Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding in China.
The vessel follows the earlier delivery of its sister ship,
Puteri Johor, on 29 May 2026. Both ships are owned by joint venture companies
of K Line and were named during a ceremony on April 30 attended by PETRONAS LNG, shipyard
representatives, and financial partners.
The newbuilds are expected to strengthen Petronas
LNG’s fleet reliability and support global LNG supply, aligning with K Line’s
strategy to expand its LNG shipping business.
“Puteri” means princess in Malay. “Johor” is Malaysia’s southernmost state
while “Kedah” is located in the northwestern part of Peninsular Malaysia. -OGN/TradeArabia News Service
