Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) has announced the tender-opening results for a project to supply, install, test and commission glass-reinforced epoxy (GRE) water transmission pipelines and associated works, with six contractors having submitted definite bids for the project.

Green Oasis General Contracting Company submitted the lowest unconditional offer at AED608 million ($165.5 million), followed by Wade Adams Contracting (AED620 million) and Al Nasr Contracting with AED637.3 million offer.

According to Dewa, Wade Adams has also offered a conditional combined-sections price of AED594.716 million if both sections are awarded together to the company. Similarly Al Nasr too has offered a conditional discounted price of AED623.6 million if awarded both sections.

Tristar Engineering and Construction has submitted a bid of AED643.2 million, while Binladin Contracting Group offered AED837.8 million and an alternative bid of AED771.6 million.

According to Dewa, Concord Stars Contracting submitted a bid of AED858.1 million, but the offer was rejected because it did not include the required tender bond.

Several other companies registered interest in the tender but either did not submit bids or formally declined to participate, stated the Dubai utility in its tender documents.

The winning bidder will have a completion period of 24 months for the project, including a 60-day review period.-TradeArabia News Service
