Norwegian Cruise Line reveals Great Tides Waterpark ahead of September opening

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has unveiled the first images of its new Great Tides Waterpark at Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas, ahead of its grand opening on September 4, 2026.

The nearly six-acre waterpark is located on NCL’s 270-acre private island and will feature attractions for families and thrill-seekers.

Highlights include The Wandering River, featuring the industry’s first immersive tunnel; The Great Slide, billed as the Caribbean’s only four-person body slide; and Splash Cay, a family-friendly splash zone.

Tidal Tower will feature duelling Master Blaster slides, while Cliffside Cove will offer the Caribbean’s tallest cliff jumps.

The island’s new two-berth pier is also operational, providing easier access for cruise passengers.

Great Tides Waterpark will introduce several dining venues, including Low Tide Smoke for barbecue, Catch of the Cay for seafood and Tidal Treats for desserts and ice cream.

NCL will offer private waterpark cabanas, adult-only spaces at Vibe Shore Club and upgraded island experiences, including Silver Cove.

Day passes are now available for cruises visiting Great Stirrup Cay from September, with the official opening set for September 4.

"With just one month until the grand opening of Great Tides Waterpark, we're excited to give guests a first look at what will become one of the Caribbean's most dynamic destination experiences that can only be enjoyed when sailing with us," said Marc Kazlauskas, president of Norwegian Cruise Line. "From adrenaline-pumping attractions and family-friendly activities to unique dining experiences and places to relax, Great Tides Waterpark will showcase the innovative design, scale and adventure that await guests visiting the island. Together with our ongoing enhancements across Great Stirrup Cay, we're creating even more ways for guests to enjoy their day in paradise without compromise. This beautiful island offers something for kids and adults alike, whether they’re a thrill seeker, in search of relaxation, or simply want a little bit of both." -TradeArabia News Service
