Axens and Raízen have started up a Prime-G+® FCC gasoline desulfurization unit at Raízen’s refinery in Argentina, marking the 300th Prime-G+® unit licensed globally over the technology’s 25-year history.

The unit enables Raízen to produce cleaner gasoline that meets stringent environmental specifications, supporting efforts to reduce the refining sector’s environmental footprint.

The project used a modular execution approach, with key process modules engineered and fabricated under Axens’ responsibility.

Despite challenges during the Covid-19 period, the modules were delivered and installed successfully, reducing onsite work and enabling a faster, smoother start-up than conventional construction methods.

Axens said Prime-G+ technology is used to produce around 70 per cent of low-sulphur gasoline worldwide.

The technology provides deep desulfurization while preserving gasoline octane, helping refiners meet fuel standards without compromising product value. -OGN/TradeArabia News Service
