Nesma & Partners enters deal with Saur for recycled water project in Riyadh

Saudi Arabia-based Nesma & Partners has announced that it has signed an agreement with global water solutions group Saur to jointly work on a strategic recycled water infrastructure project in Riyadh.
The agreement was signed during the French-Saudi Investment Roundtable held in Paris recently in the presence of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman and French President Emmanuel Macron.
The memorandum builds on a partnership established by the two companies in September last year and will see them work together to prepare for the next stage of the tender process for the Riyadh recycled water project.
Under the agreement, Saur will contribute its international expertise in water and wastewater management, while Nesma & Partners will provide local market knowledge as well as engineering and construction capabilities and experience in major infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia.
The companies also intend to explore opportunities beyond the Riyadh project, including municipal and industrial water infrastructure, engineering, procurement and construction projects, operations and maintenance services, water reuse, digital water solutions and industrial water applications.
The partnership comes as Saudi Arabia seeks to expand water reuse and improve wastewater management as part of its broader efforts to strengthen water security and optimise water resources under its Vision 2030 economic diversification programme.
Patrick Blethon, the executive chairman of Saur Group, said the agreement marked a further step in the companies' partnership and reflected their intention to participate in major infrastructure developments in Saudi Arabia.
Samer Abdul Samad, the president and CEO of Nesma & Partners, said the memorandum would help expand the company's role in Saudi Arabia's water infrastructure sector and support projects aligned with the kingdom's long-term development plans.
The agreement also underscores growing economic ties between Saudi Arabia and France, as the two countries seek to deepen investment and cooperation across infrastructure and other strategic sectors, it added.
