2029. Millennium currently operates 41 hotels across 20 cities and locations in
the Middle East and Africa.
Ali Alzaabi, President
of Millennium & Copthorne, MENAT, said: “Challenging markets test the
strength of a hospitality business. For us, 2026 has reinforced the value of
being both an owner and an operator. It gives us the discipline to
understand29-project pipeline is significant, but scale alone is not the
objective. What matters is executing the right projects, in the right markets,
with the right partners. That discipline is how we intend to build lasting
value across MENAT and where demand is real, where capital can work hardest and
where the right partnerships can create sustainable long-term value. That
approach is reflected in signed projects such as Grand Millennium Sumou Al
Madinah in Saudi Arabia and Grand Millennium New Capital Tycoon Towers Cairo,
Egypt, which represent the kind of long-term opportunities we are pursuing
across MENAT.
Alzaabi, added: “Our
29-project pipeline is significant, but scale alone is not the objective. What
matters is executing the right projects, in the right markets, with the right
partners. That discipline is how we intend to build lasting value across MENAT
and strengthen our presence across the region.”
Residences account for
more than half of the future portfolio, with 6,099 units.
Egypt represents the
largest market by total future units, with 5,864 across nine projects,
including 5,264 residences and 600 hotel keys.
Saudi Arabia is the largest hotel development market, with 11 projects and 3,579 hotel keys.
The
UAE has six projects comprising 1,677 units.
Saudi Arabia remains
central to the group’s strategy, supported by tourism growth and resilient
religious travel demand. Millennium’s presence in Makkah and Madinah provides
exposure to the Kingdom’s established pilgrimage market.
The company has also
expanded its residential and loyalty offerings, including Millennium Residences
Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi and the MyMillennium programme, which now has
three membership tiers and includes MyMillennium Kids.
The MENAT platform was
established in February 2026 under Alzaabi’s leadership to create a more
coordinated approach to development and operations.
Millennium will showcase its pipeline and regional growth strategy at Arabian Travel Market 2026, taking place from September 14 to 17 at Dubai World Trade Centre. -TradeArabia News Service
