Heavy Engineering Industries & Shipbuilding Company (Heisco) has announced that it has received a Letter of Award (LoA) valued at KD111.05 million ($359 million) for the execution of CMEI Works and Engineering, Procurement and Construction of tanks for Kuwait Oil Company‘s Jurassic Light Oil (JLO) export facilities.

The deal, awarded by the project’s main contractor on behalf of KOC, also includes upgrading of existing export network project, said the company in a statement.

The JLO project forms part of Kuwait Oil Company’s ongoing efforts to develop and upgrade its crude oil export infrastructure, enhance the capacity and reliability of existing export facilities, and support the efficient transportation of hydrocarbons through Kuwait’s export network.

As per the contract, Heisco will undertake CMEI works and EPC activities for the storage tanks. The entire work will be completed within 42 months.

The scope covers the engineering, procurement and construction activities required for the tank facilities, together with associated civil, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation works.

The award further strengthens Heisco’s position as a major engineering and construction contractor supporting Kuwait’s oil and gas infrastructure development, said the statement. 

The company is expected to leverage its expertise in heavy engineering, EPC execution, mechanical works, tank construction and associated infrastructure, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
