Etihad Airways has unveiled its new Beyond Borders product and experience at Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2026, introducing a new design and service concept that will progressively shape the airline’s cabins, lounges and wider guest journey.
The centrepiece
of the launch is Etihad’s new Airbus A330 cabin,
featuring redesigned First, Business and Economy interiors.
The Beyond
Borders design will also extend to the airline’s A321LR,
creating greater consistency across its growing fleet and
premium spaces.
The A321LR
has already introduced First suites and fully lie-flat
Business seats on a single-aisle aircraft, with Etihad reporting
strong customer response and demand for flights operated by
the aircraft.
Antonoaldo Neves,
Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways, said: “Beyond Borders
is becoming visible in the moments that matter most to
our guests. It is showcased in the aircraft they fly, the cabins
they enjoy, the lounges they explore and the service
that connects every part of the journey.
“The A321LR
showed what is possible when we challenge the expected
model of narrowbody flying. We brought First and fully lie-flat
Business to a single-aisle aircraft and guests have responded
strongly to the experience it offers, actively choosing to
fly on the aircraft.
“Now we
are taking the next step. At ATM, our new A330 brings Beyond
Borders to life with an all-new cabin experience, while we
are extending the Beyond Borders look and feel to our
A321LR as we create greater consistency across the
Etihad journey.
“We are
also doubling down on First, bringing an exceptional First
experience to our new A330 and increasing the number
of First seats across our fleet over the coming years.
“Beyond Borders
goes beyond the aircraft and the seat. It is about the entire
journey – our cabins, lounges, food, wellbeing, connectivity and the
way we look after our guests. Over the coming months, we will
continue to reveal how Beyond Borders is shaping the future
Etihad experience, both on the ground and in the air.”
The new
A330 is scheduled to enter service from September 2027,
with 15 aircraft planned to join the fleet over
five years.
The
three-cabin aircraft will support Etihad’s regional
and medium-haul expansion across Europe, Asia and the
Middle East.
The First
cabin will feature four private suites, each with a
closing door, 32-inch screen, wireless charging and dedicated
storage.
Business will
offer 24 forward-facing, fully lie-flat seats with
direct aisle access, sliding doors and 17.3-inch screens.
Economy will
feature 252 seats, including 32 Extra Legroom seats,
alongside 13.3-inch 4K touchscreens and personal charging.
First
will remain a major element of the Beyond Borders strategy, with
Etihad expanding the premium cabin through new aircraft and
retrofit programmes.
Its A380
will continue to feature the flagship First Apartments and
The Residence.
The new
design language draws inspiration from Abu Dhabi’s landscape,
architecture and transformation, with the concept described
as “sand to superstructure”. The interiors feature bright, calm
spaces alongside bespoke details, including Etihad-inspired lighting,
leather seating and discreet design elements.
The airline is
investing $20 billion in new aircraft and customer experience,
including a $1 billion fleet retrofit programme, as
it continues its expansion and develops a more connected
premium experience across its global network. -TradeArabia News Service
