Madayn announces key investment opportunities at Sur Industrial City

Oman’s Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn) has announced four investment opportunities at Sur Industrial City as part of its ongoing efforts to build an integrated and attractive environment and drive further investments across industrial, service and logistics sectors, in line with Vision 2040 objectives.

The key opportunities include a quarry for backfilling materials, private hospital, a specialised training centre and an integrated residential complex, said Madayn in a statement.

The quarry will cover 45,000 sq m under a three-year contract, while the residential complex will occupy 182,000 sq m under a 30-year renewable contract. 

The residential development will be required to comply with health, safety and environmental standards and Oman Energy Association (OPAL) requirements, it stated.

According to Madayn, the cumulative investment in the Sur Industrial City, reached about SAR2.3 billion ($6 billion) in the first half of 2026, with 1,843 workers employed there, including 1,076 Omanis.

"Sur Industrial City continues its efforts to develop infrastructure and enhance the investment environment. The city recently completed the detailed designs for the project of shipbuilding and maintenance facilities, as well as the general design for the city’s masterplan," remarked Eng. Nasser bin Hamoud Al Mabsali, Director General of Sur Industrial City. 

Trial operations have also commenced at Sur 1 solar power plant, which aims at further strengthening Sur Industrial City’s role in supporting the growth and development of the Sultanate’s industrial sector, he stated.-TradeArabia News Service
