Qassim Health Cluster has introduced a treatment service for pneumothorax using Thopaz technology at King Fahd Specialist Hospital in Buraidah.
The technology uses an advanced digital system for chest drainage and continuous monitoring, helping improve accuracy and enhance the efficiency of specialised treatment services provided to beneficiaries, a Saudi Press Agency (SPA) report said.
Intelligent digital suction system
The health cluster indicated that the technology enables air and fluid surrounding the lungs to be drained through an intelligent digital suction system that provides real-time monitoring and accurate readings of air leakage levels and pressure, alongside smart alerts and audible and visual notifications.
These features support treatment decisions based on the patient’s clinical indicators, it said.
The cluster also noted that the introduction of this technology is part of its ongoing efforts to develop specialised services and adopt modern medical technologies, thereby enhancing the quality of healthcare and patient safety.—TradeArabia News Service
