Bahrain’s Mumtalakat announces strategic investment in DOO
Signing the agreement

Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company, the sovereign wealth fund of Bahrain, has signed an agreement to make a strategic investment in DOO, a Bahraini AI-powered customer experience company.

Completion of the transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions and relevant regulatory approvals.

The investment follows DOO's selection, as a winner of the third edition of the "Startup of the Year" competition sponsored by Mumtalakat and will support DOO's next phase of growth, including scaling its Arabic-first AI platform across the GCC, expanding research and development, and developing Bahraini talent in artificial intelligence.

Optimise, enhance and grow

The investment aligns with Mumtalakat's strategy to optimise, enhance and grow its portfolio through investments in high-potential businesses capable of delivering sustainable long-term returns and meaningful local impact. It also reflects Mumtalakat's role as an active partner in growth, supporting local companies as they build capabilities, scale regionally and compete internationally.

Founded in 2024, DOO develops Arabic-first, dialect-aware AI agents that enable enterprises to automate customer interactions across voice, text and messaging channels. Its platform serves clients in banking, insurance, healthcare, telecommunications and other sectors across the GCC.—TradeArabia News Service
