France to showcase latest products, equipment at Gulfood
DUBAI, January 28, 2016
France is set to showcase its latest high quality products and food service equipment, with two pavilions at an upcoming trade show in Dubai, UAE.
The 21st edition of Gulfood will take place from February 21 to 25 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
With as many as 71 companies from the food and drinks sector and 28 firms from the food service and catering equipment sector, it is also expected to launch several French products, said a statement.
Over the years, the tradeshow has become a meeting place for French companies exploring business development opportunities.
Business France will also bring its regional experts from France and several countries - Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Egypt, India, as well as Kenya to join this world class event.
Marc Cagnard, French trade commissioner in the Middle East, said that most of French SME’s on both pavilions come to get more visibility and discover the market during few days, especially to create business partnerships toward a larger exposure on the UAE market and in the Middle East region.
In the UAE, the French exports of food and beverage products increased 95 per cent in five years (between 2009 and 2013), which 2014 showed a 10 per cent increase over 2013.
Meanwhile, the French exports have grown also in the neighbourhood with the Middle East representing three per cent of French food exports.
At global level, however, France is the fourth largest exporter of food and beverage products since 2011, with $63 billion in 2014. The country is also the sixth for the export of equipment in the food industry.
At the event, visitors will have the opportunity to taste cheeses, French pastries, cold cuts, soft drinks, and more products.
In addition, exhibitors specialists of the hospitality equipment will showcase new ranges in food preparation, cooking, molds, cutlery, bakery and pastry equipment, laundry equipment, uniforms, disposable tableware, food packaging, signs and display, and thermometers. - TradeArabia News Service
