Ducab launches scheme to back 'Day for Dubai' initiative

DUBAI, January 2, 2018

Ducab, the UAE-based leading manufacturer of high-quality cables and cabling products, is launching a new beautification and sustainability programme within its workers’ accommodations in Jebel Ali under the banner of the recently announced “Day for Dubai” initiative. 
 
The “Day for Dubai” initiative was launched to strengthen the role and concept of social responsibility among individuals, led by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, and In line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai.
 
The new volunteer programme will see Ducab employees cultivate trees and local vegetable gardens within their staff accommodations, increasing the overall green space within Jebel Ali. Groups of employees are being given individual areas of 35 sq m and are being provided with knowledge and agriculture equipment, while a dedicated team of volunteers will be monitoring the progress of the programme and overseeing distribution of the resulting produce.
 
Mona Mohamed Fekri, Ducab General Manager, Human Resources, said: "We are pleased to be among the first companies to take part in Day for Dubai initiative, which embodies the progressive vision of the UAE’s leadership as well as furthering the concept of volunteering by individuals and institutions in the UAE.”
