OSN brings top Arab TV stars to DIFF

DUBAI, December 6, 2017

OSN, a leading entertainment network in the region, is partnering with the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) for a second consecutive year and will bring some of the beloved regional TV stars to the event.

Following a successful collaboration last year, where OSN introduced TV series episode screenings and brought stars of the small screen to the festival, OSN now also brings the director-producer of some of the most talked-about shows on TV to the prestigious festival.

Director-producer Michelle MacLaren, will be delving into the creative process of taking scripts and turning them into hit series, in an insightful Q&A session.

Known for her distinctive style and cinematic flair, MacLaren has been a part of the creative machine behind dozens of episodes of hit HBO series such as the epic Game of Thrones, Westworld and most recently The Deuce, all of which aired exclusively and first on OSN. In ‘Primetime with Michelle MacLaren’, the show-runner will answer questions from audience members on her well-established and successful career and reveal what it’s like to direct for the best of Primetime TV.

Representing the wide-breadth of Arabic programming on the network, OSN is bringing Lebanese-Tunisian actress Nadine Nassib Njeim to DIFF. Njeim is best known for her roles in Arabic series Nos Youm, Samra, What If: Aka Laow and Al Hayba. Njeim will host an ‘In Conversation’ with session, discussing her career and the development of Arabic film and TV.

The cast of SNL Bil Arabi, including comedic duo Khalid Mansoor and Shadi Alfons, will host also a special interactive masterclass at the festival, sharing the art of comedy script and sketch writing with fans of the genre. SNL Bil Arabi, which has just completed its fourth successful season, is filmed in the region for the region, and airs exclusively on OSN’s Arabic entertainment channel, OSN Yahala Al Oula HD.

Bringing all the glitz, glamour and gossip from the red carpet to viewers, OSN’s own weekly Arabic-language magazine show, Spotlight, will be presenting daily from the red carpet, at OSN’s Spotlight red carpet lounge. Presenter Habiba Basiony, will be interviewing the biggest stars in the city ahead of every gala screening.
