DUBAI, January 31, 2015

Equate Petrochemical Company, Kuwait’s first international petrochemical joint-venture, said it has won the Gulf Petrochemicals & Chemicals Association (GPCA) Plastics Excellence Award 2015 for the category of Excellence in Plastic Products & Processes.

The awards ceremony was held for the fifth consecutive year on the sidelines of GPCA 6th International Conference for Plastic Conversion (GPCA PlastiCon 2015) which was sponsored by Equate in Dubai, UAE.

The event was attended by GPCA Secretary-General Dr Abdulwahab Al-Sadoun, a number of industrial leaders and several experts from around the world.

On the win, Equate president and chief executive Mohammad Husain, said: "As a firm believer in the value of continuous development to achieve overall sustainability, Equate is determined on delivering innovation for the benefit and advantage of all stakeholders, especially industrial entities, customers and all consumers of plastic products."

"This achievement was realized through our distinguished human resources, especially nationals, who represent the main element in the company’s journey for more growth and progress at a global level in all sectors to embody our slogan of Partners in Success," he added.

On his part, Equate Research & Development (R&D) head Arif Al-Qattan said:"The company developed the attributes of a grade of linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE). "The applications of this modified grade, developed by Equate in co-operation with a number of plastic manufacturers, include bags for vegetables, fruits and bakery, as well as reducing the cost of manufacturing such bags," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
